This is a band who are obviously very into Warhammer 40K, which has been a good lyrical focus for bands who are nerds but want to seem more badass than D&D players. I mean, it was good enough for Bolt Thrower, right? This is actually a rather cool album of Death/Black Metal. The band claims to be Black, but they play more like a Death band who don't downtune, and they layer on some rather upfront keys. I do wish the guitar sound was more visceral, as it is a bit light for my tastes. The songwriting is decent if not amazing, and this disc will all-around just show you a pretty good time. |
