An English Doom band doing a concept album about King Arthur is about the most British thing imaginable, and here it is. I knew nothing about this band before cracking this open, but I find myself really impressed by the riff work and the Heavy/Doom attack these guys lay down. There's nothing revolutionary about this, and the fingerprints of bands like The Gates of Slumber are all over this disc, but the riffs are really good, and the songwriting is rock-solid. The vocals are a bit shaky, but they do all right. If you like stuff like Gates of Slumber, Argus, or Sinister Realm, then you should check this out. |
