Occulta religiO is the seventh record from long-running Italian black metal band Abhor. You get the required raspy vocals and blasting drums but Abhor mix in a lot of slower tempos and traditional metal riffing along with spooky, minor-key church organs to build a truly creepy atmosphere. The songs themselves don’t have much identity but after listening to Occulta religiO you’ll certainly remember how unnerved you felt and that’s a pretty good reason to check it out. |
