One of several bands called Madhouse from Germany, this one plays power/thrash on their debut full-length, Metal or Die. The riffing is sharp and quick though the drums carry a fair bit of the band’s overall speed. The vocals are less of a bark and more of a from-the-diaphragm shout akin to Ape di Martini or Glen Metal. There are some standout tracks among an album’s worth of solid material such as "Machinery" with its memorable chorus and the Cryonic Temple-flavored "Metal or Die". Metal or Die is refreshingly not exactly like a hundred other albums and that alone makes it worth investigating. If you enjoy Vicious Rumors, Lääz Rockit, Helstar and bands like that, it should be even higher on your to do list. |
