The Australian black/trashers are back with another in-your-face slab of evil madness. There must be something in the water in Australia for them to have so many bands that do this right. After several listens I can confirm my first impression of Titan, and it's that the material is not as memorable as that of their previous albums. That's too bad because Nocturnal Graves have most of the ingredients to blow up your speakers and make you their bitch here. The album is a little more polished than some of their past offerings, though I won't go as far as to say it hurts it in any way even if a rawer sound is what you're looking for. Between some slow, heavy passages with a decidedly haunting atmosphere and the expected speedy onslaught, you have enough diversity to keep you interested while it's on. Just don't expect to remember much once it's over. |
