I have seen this hyped up as a great Doom release, but really it isn't. There are some decent riffs on this, but the guitar sound is weak, and the vocals are mixed on top of everything, so this sounds more like a rock record than like actual Doom. There's nothing on here you have not heard on any number of retro Doom albums, most of which are better than this. The riffs are largely recycled, the vocal lines are rote, and the whole thing is just kind of a drag. Not terrible, but not good either. |
