I always feel kind of sad when a band is this good and it doesn't get the recognition deserved. Chris Impellitteri has been fucking posers and obliterating speakers with his mix of powerful US-oriented Heavy Metal and Shred for a good while now, and The Nature of the Beast, 11th album by the guitar hero, will kick you in the nuts with its awesomeness. Impellitteri shines with his great riffs and stellar solos, as always, but there's solid work in the kitchen provided by James Amelio Pulli and Jon Dette which makes the every song fresh and relevant. Rob Rock's voice feels like it came straight from 1986 as he sounds as great as he ever did, with his trademark screams and competent falsettos. If you're already a fan of this killer band, you'll love this like I did, as it actually tops Venom (2015) and Wicked Maiden (2009); if you're unfamiliar with Impellitteri's amazing skills and are looking for some crunchy, tasty Heavy Metal with just the right amount of instrumental prowess, your search is over. |
