It's a good thing that this EP is only 14 minutes long because it certainly rips. OK, maybe we could take more of that: More insane black metal from the prolific Finnish scene. Morgal play it fast as hell with an omnipresent melody that reminds me a little bit of early '80s Maiden at times, so this sounds a little bit like a mix of fast, blasting '90s-style Scandinavian black metal mix with Iron Maiden. Seriously, I'm typing this and can hear bits that could belong on a Maiden album. Not as easy blend by any stretch of the imagination, but Morgal pull it off—assuming that's what they set out to do in the first place. ;) Throw in some visceral black metal screeches and we've got a good recipe here. I don't know about their older releases but I'm certainly hoping for more good stuff like this in the future.
