If you think about what you expect a Black Metal album about Slavonic Paganism to sound like, then this is pretty much exactly that. This album has big, epic-sounding songs with a harsh sound and everything kind of mixed together to make a unified crush of sound. The guitars sound nice and harsh, and the riffs are midpaced and quite melodic. If you dig Graveland or Temnozor then you know what this is all about, but Ichor have done a good job here, producing a disc that nicely mixes aggression, atmosphere, and melody. A strong debut. |
