Swedish black/death metal horde Necrophor, formed in 2012, got signed to Sliptrick Records and finally recorded their debut album, titled Reborn, in 2016. The guys have taken a huge leap musically from their previous demo outing, Exterminatus, which showed the band's potential to become an act worth following. On Reborn, they have sharpened their songwriting pencils and that's especially noticeable in well-crafted and better melodies and guitar harmonies. It's still both Dark Funeral's and Dissection's favorable ghosts that are haunting somewhere there in the background in the band's sound even if they seem to take a smaller role this time around. Reborn is a very good slab of melodic and Scandinavian sounding black and death metal. If that's what sets your house on fire, then look no further. |
