I remember a lot of talk about this band some 10+ years ago but I never really got around to checking them out. My loss. Fire of Iniquity is some great work of blackened heavy metal with an occasional thrash vibe. It reeks of the old school while sporting a (good) modern touch and there's some stuff in there that reminds me of '70s progressive, psychedelic rock and hard rock, just a tad heavier. The album strikes just the right balance between fast, blackened heavy thrashing numbers and much slower, melodic songs that just reach for your soul. Nicely done. |
