I've noticed that there's an increasing number of metal bands from Indonesia and most of them don't play it fluffy. Osmed are one of those, with a muddy, basic brutal death metal with deep growls and speed, speed, speed, including the clickety drums that get annoying despite the short length of the album. The production isn't all that great, to the point of hurting the end result. There's stuff to hear in here but it's often kind of muffled and I can't shake the feeling that this onslaught should sound heavier and the instruments are just struggling to get through. Still, the basics are there and hopefully there are good days ahead for these guys. Promising stuff. |
