This is a very limited release (26 cassettes made) from this French band made up of members of a few other French bands, including the excellent Sombre Croisade. Very raw, lo-fi-ish '90s-style black metal is on the menu here with tortured raspy vocals and an atmosphere that reeks of hate and despair—very gloomy stuff that has a rather doom-ish vibe to it. At times I was reminded a little bit of some of the work of bands that were part of Les Légions Noires, but more proficient and less chaotic. If you're in the mood for raw, tortured, bleak black metal, this will certainly quench your thirst. As inconvenient as the cassette format can be (lots of rewinding with this one because of the length), I've found myself listening to this over and over. |
