Well, there's a weird band name. This is a reissue of a 1988 2-track demo—the band's only release—by these Australian death/thrashers. I don't know who unearthed this, but it's pretty cool despite the short length. Slow-ish thrash with death metal rearing its head all over, something that was mostly just starting at the time, 888 has a bit of a doomy vibe to it that makes it sound heavier, if not downright crushing at times. The vocals are more of the harsh thrash variety and make it relatively easy to understand the lyrics. The mostly slow songs with the occasional speedups that range from anywhere to mid-paced thrash to short-but-speedy-as-fuck passages pretty much make this is a bit of a roller-coaster ride to listen to, never really knowing what's waiting for you next.
