Into the Night surely feels like a trip back to the '80s and the name of the band and the artwork certainly gives the prospective buyer an idea of what to expect. High-pitched vocals are front and centre here and definitely sound like that of quite a few singers of party/fun-themed heavy metal bands back in the day and I can't help but think a little bit of Raven. It can get a little annoying as the vocalist doesn't vary his delivery much, but it sure keeps the attention up. The music is your standard '80s heavy metal cranked up to ... 10.5? They sometimes kick it up a notch in terms of speed and heaviness, which is in stark contrast with the tamer vibe of the album and the result is actually pretty cool. Unsurprisingly, there's nothing revolutionary here; it's decent, not great, but it's fun and will get your head banging and your foot tapping, maybe even breaking out the air guitar a few times. |
