This is just pure evil. Not because it's death metal, but because this EP is so short at just over 13 minutes. What's there to say about Vader that hasn't been said before? Not much. This is a very consistent band that delivers the goods, and Thy Messenger is no exception. Three brand-new, fast and catchy songs in the Vader tradition hint at good things coming on their upcoming full-length album. There's a nice rerecording of "Litany" that refreshes the title track from one of their best albums, and the EP ends with one hell of a bang with a great cover of Judas Priest's "Steeler". Really, my only beef with this one is the short length that leaves me begging for more every single time.
