Nekrofilth sure don't go for long songs. After their 30-minute, 15-song album, Worm Ritual, comes this 7" named after one of many famous Motörhead songs and, of course, that's because the main point of attraction is the Motörhead cover, which I find Nekrofilth have done a good job with, making things a little faster while retaining the essence of the original. The other songs are covers of Rudimentary Peni ("Media Person"), Mortician ("Zombie Apocalypse") and Mob 47 ("Det Ar Upp Till Oss"). The Rudimentary Peni and Mob 47 songs are 53 seconds and 25 seconds in length and barely worth talking about. I mean, seriously? "Zombie Apocalypse" brings back some sanity to this release, a heavy and slow to fast-paced song to will scrape the paint off the walls. You know, if you're going to release something like this, might as well just stick to the two longest songs because the other ones are useless and an unnecessary distraction. For completists only... |
