I found this somewhat different from the little Origin I know and, upon reading the promo sheet, found out that this is material that predates the official formation of the band. So, this is material recorded from 1991 to 1996.

I didn't like this much on the first couple of listens largely due to the squeaky, chipmunkish vocals (can't really think of a better description at the moment) which are used on a lot of songs here. The death growls are better and fit the music a lot better.

This is kind of a mix of brutal technical death metal and grindcore, with many songs hovering around the two-minute mark and pretty much leaving you unsatisfied, though a couple of them rock pretty fucking hard ("Infestation" is pretty cool but is too damn short at 1:53). Unsurprisingly for such a release, things feel a bit disjointed and the quality of the material varies. You'll need a few listens to dig out the good stuff and get used to the lesser material. This is one of those releases that will likely appeal only to completists.
