Sandwiched between a quiet intro and outro, the songs on Tabella Defixionis are all pretty solid, fast death metal that's good while it's on but doesn't leave too much of a lasting impression once it's over. It sounds a little bit too clinical, but when you're in the right mood for that, it works. They do manage to sneak in a bit of a mysterious atmosphere that helps keep things interesting on slower, quieter passages, but overall this is heavy and busy with some first-rate death growls. A nice little slab of U.S. death metal that shows promise for the future.
