I listened to this album all day at work because it was such a good fit to my mood. Deathwomb have unleashed, with Moonless Night Sacraments, a putrid, crass onslaught of raw, basic, ugly black metal. There's nothing that sounds anywhere near pretty here, except for maybe the intro to album closer "The Chasm"—which quickly turns into more of the same. Forget about instrumental wizardry, nice production, beautiful anything, Deathwomb are all about raw and ugly black metal and they did it right with this little slab of hateful darkness. You're glad you weren't around me today, aren't you? ;) |
