I really wasn't expecting something like this when I put this on. Concrete Winds (formerly Vorum) sound just like the band name hints at; a whirlwind a fast-as-fuck, violent death metal served with a blackened sauce. They remind me a little bit of Deiphago, though not quite as chaotic and messy (Deiphago are in a league of their own.) The vocals are insane screams that are bound to scare the crap out of the uninitiated, a perfect match for this 25-minute unrelenting blastfest. The album is pretty raw overall and anything shinier would just dilute that feeling of being run over by hundreds of elephants storming through your backyard. This kicks serious ass from beginning to end. |
