Kill or die! Kneel or rise! Brazilian trve metal masters Hellish War are back to crush posers and piss on the faces of those who enjoy some Slipknot in their "metal" dose. Following the footsteps of bands like Manowar (because of course), Wizard, Pegazus and adding some other classic flavors like Running Wild and Grave Digger, the band manages to compile riffs, lyrics and attitude that are somewhat outdated and deliver a truly inspired and organic album. The songs here are filled with testosterone, badassery and pure steel. Faster tracks such as "Trial by Fire", prolific ones like "Devin" and simplistic passages like in "Falcon" are intertwined to pay homage to heavy metal as a whole. You'll find no frills here, just old school heavy metal as simple as it can be; add to that some kickass riffing by Vulcano and Daniel Job, potent bass and drum lines and Bill Martins' powerful pipes and you got yourself a hell of an album. Highly recommended to those who enjoy the "troo" style of the heavy metal genre. |
