Cataclysmic Sorcery is the debut album from Widower, a band with a truly savage black/thrash sound. This isn't the bouncy, punk-inspired Venom worship that is currently littering the metal landscape, this is punishing thrash riffing and hellish black howls. Widower have begun to separate themselves from the masses because there's not one shred of humor to be found on cuts like "Bestial Endowment" or "Fornicate on Mass Graves", and that's the point. Widower creates dark, hellish metal will scare the dog, kill the grass and make neighbors cover their ears in horror. |
