"The Revolution Continues, the second full-length studio album from this Brazilian four-piece bunch, Red Razor, features eight songs of intense old school Thrash Metal, sometimes flirting with Death and Black Metal, sometimes adding non-conventional influences like Surf music and Brazilian genres..." That is the quote the album uses to advertise itself. Honestly, I have no idea where they think those flirtations come into play, as all I hear is some straightforward Crossover Thrash in the vein of S.O.D. and Anthrax. Moshing riffs, songwriting that takes more twists and turns than you'd usually expect, and cheesy lyrics that'll entertain people as brain-dead as I am, are what this band has to offer, and they offer it with all the attitude and conviction necessary to pull it off. It's short, and not as experimental as the band seems to think it is, but it's a lot of fun. |
