Prime Creation are a Swedish band that plays a heavy/power style of metal on Tears of Rage, their second full-length album. The songs are accented with a few keys to up the bombast, but they remain centered around the guitars, which pinch and squeal and are somewhat down tuned but not egregiously modern sounding. The songwriting is several notches above average and songs like "Before the Rain" and "All for My Crown" possess huge sweep and catchy choruses. While they don't sound exactly the same, Prime Creation's music reminds me of how I feel when I listen to Black Majesty. Tears of Rage was released independently but seems like the kind of album that should get Prime Creation some serious label interest.
