From the looks of it, I expected this to be a Doom album, but no. With 27 minutes for 10 songs, including a Misfits cover, you know what kind of dirty, Black/Thrash/Speed/Whatever this will be. Wraith get a good guitar tone, and some raspy KK Warslut-styled vocals. The riffs are pretty solid, and some of the lead work is really good. Oddly enough, it's when they slow down a bit, as on "Meaningless Planet", that the band sounds the most individual and memorable. This isn't genre-defining or anything, but it is a fun little album. |
