This is a very cool EP of doomy death metal that pins the listener to the ground from the beginning and doesn't let go. The vocals are out of this world, creepy and just as crushing as the music. Unsurprisingly, The Creeping Unknown is mostly slow paced but does throw in a little speed where it's needed, but overall this is a slow, tormented and crushing voyage into the depths of hell (I was really tempted to write, "...into the creeping unknown"... oops, I just did). If you like your death metal crushingly heavy and slow with atmosphere to boot, this will do the job—at least until Noose Rot grace us with a full-length album. |
