Debut for this Dutch band, which amusingly has more band members than tracks, as this is one 30+minute song. This kind of thing can be done well or poorly, but on this it is just kind of there. The song doesn't sound bad, the riffs are solid Cascadian constructions and the production is good. But the song just kind of...keeps going. There are a few breaks throughout the run time, but 90% of this track unfolds at the same speed, sounding pretty much exactly the same as what you heard 6 minutes ago, or 15 minutes. At the end it does wind down, but it doesn't provide closure on an epic composition, and rather just seems like the poor drummer finally wore out. |
