Canadian trio Martial Law advertise their sound on their Facebook page as "No bullshit. No frills.", and I don't think I could put it any better myself. Yes, these Canucks play raw, punky Thrash the way Venom and Warfare used to, right down to this album sounding like it was recorded in a rehearsal room and done in one take. Sure, it's not what you'd call polished or professional, but that's a feature of this kind of thing, all energy and sincerity without any of that technicality I keep hearing people go on about. Relentless, ruthless, and violent, just like it says on the tin. |
