Holycide are a Spanish Thrash band whose debut, Annihilate... Then Ask!, was an unforgiving slice of Thrash that showed a lot of promise. Thankfully, their sophomore effort, Fist to Face, sees them show even more as they've gotten even angrier in their sound and lyrical approach (but you probably already guessed that from looking at the album cover).

Holycide bow down loyally to both the European and especially the American Thrash scenes. Everything from Slayer to Infernäl Mäjesty to even Motörhead can all be heard as influences, and they all come together to create a violent and intense lesson in how to fucking Thrash. You get your expected neck snappers like the title track, "Fake Libertarian" and "Innocent Hate", but there are also some slower, more melodic numbers like "Vultures" and "Mentality Packs" thrown in for some variety. Even their cover of Recipients of Death's "The Aftermath" kills, breathing new life into the original by giving it a sharper, more modern flair.

Ultimately, from the old school influences to the harsh political lyrics to the curb-stomping aggression, Holycide just does everything we all love in Thrash and they do it well. Recommended.
