Black Hawk have been at it for a while now, formed in 1981 but their first album coming out only in 2005 after a reformation in 2001. Their albums all share similar catchy melodic heavy metal songs. Their output has been a little bit uneven and it's also true for Destination Hell. The album is packed with some heavy rocking songs that share the stage with more mid-paced, very melodic material a ballad-decent but with lyrics that are unfortunately a little too repetitive. The vocalist is one of the band's distinctive traits and he's in really good form here, making the band instantly recognizable when listening to just about any of their songs. If you're looking for solid, entertaining, catchy, melodic and somewhat addictive heavy metal, then Destination Hell is certainly worth checking out. |
