Tzimani is two brothers from San Diego that play plain and simple hard rock/heavy metal on their self-titled debut. Punchy riffs, slightly gruff vocals and booming drums characterize cuts like "Overdrive", "We Are the Ones" and "Get Me Out of Here". Uncomplicated songwriting is a plus for these guys as they aren't trying to impress you with technical ability or wow you with anything but just some fist in the air music. The original songs are pretty good though a few, like "Night People", feel like they could have used some extra tweaking. I truly enjoyed their cover of W.A.S.P.'s "Doctor Rockter" as they perfectly captured the upbeat energy and feel of the song while making it their own. Sometimes, you just want your metal front and center with no bullshit and that is what Tzimani delivers though a few more ass kickers would be welcome on their next release. For fans of W.A.S.P., Michael Schenker Group, Motley Crue's debut, etc.
