Dreamlord sounds like the name of a power metal band but these guys play thrash on their second album Disciples of War. It has a familiar sound with riffs and vocal lines that you'll feel like you've heard before though they are played with energy and conviction. There are some songs that stick out, like the bruising "Infratricide". It is an entertaining song but its boilerplate writing, like the rest of the album, makes it hard to remember once it is over. I don't dislike Disciples of War but if you've heard Exodus or Sacred Reich, you've heard most of Dreamlords licks already. Solid but unremarkable thrash. |
