This is another band in the stream of other bands who are deeply derivative of Summoning's more mellow vibes, very much of a piece with bands like Dwarrowdelf, Eldamar, and Druadan Forest. You get big, long songs with a smooth guitar sound and moody tremolo riffs, keys building atmosphere, and raspy vocals mixed in the background so they are not the focus of the music. I enjoy this sort of thing, but the best I can say is that Belore are neither better nor worse than the other bands I just named. If you enjoy this sort of stuff, then this album is a sure thing, but if you don't, Belore will probably not change your mind. |
