This band apparently existed as Deadend for a number of years before being forced to change their name. I think they should have just come up with something else, as while their current name makes no mistake about which one they are, it still sounds a bit silly. Regardless, Dead End Finland exist to recreate the slick, well-produced Melodic Death Metal of the early 2000s, and they do it quite well. They have a very pro production job, a lot of keyboards for atmosphere, and vocals that switch between harsh and clean, both of them pretty decent. This is a very polished and commercial sound, but these days not many bands are doing this kind of thing, and so it sounds almost fresh again. So this is a highly derivative but also fun album. |
