When I hear that a band does deep-sea themed Funeral Doom, I am ready to sign right the fuck up. This is not as good as bands like Ahab or Tyranny, but it does present a murky, dark seascape of Doom sounds. This album is two songs, both of them about 20 minutes long. This is entirely the work of Ukranian expat Markov Soroka, who is also at the helm of the excellent Tchornobog as well as several other such one-man acts. If you like this kind of dense, slow, moody stuff, then Drown are right up your street. It's not groundbreaking or original, but it is solid. |
