Wild Hunt present some doom/post-black on this new album and while it does have its moments, it's a little all over the place and overall kind of monotone, the kind of album that just disappears in the background whether you're actively listening to it or doing something else. Sometimes that's what you need, but ultimately there isn't much left to remember once it's over. It's not bad, just nondescript. There are some good ideas in here and they're certainly exploiting the post-black space, and the doom delivery had a pretty daunting and dark vibe to the ensemble. There's nothing actually "bad" here, but there's nothing that reaches out to grab you either. |
