Hyperion are back with another album of catchy and crunchy heavy metal that goes down the same path as Dangerous Days, though I don't like this quite as much—it's a close call. Loud, clear vocals reminiscent of early-2000s power metal in style lead this, on occasion maybe too overbearing but not annoyingly so, and the music is deeply rooted in old-school heavy metal and a few guitar bits here and there will make you travel back a few decades. It's fun heavy metal with a bit of a power vibe that gets the foot tapping, and sometimes that's all you need. The whole time I got the feeling that this stuff probably comes out even better in a live setting, assuming the band can deliver. |
