Ninth album for Singapore band Impiety, who have made a long career thrashing away at their particular style of Southeast Asian high-speed Blackened Death. This is not really any different from most of their albums, except I notice that the recording and songwriting are just a bit smoothed out and slowed down. This has a riffy songwriting approach and does not go for full-throttle speed that often. The guitar sound is adequate, if a bit weak, and the vocals are a thrashy gargle that retains some intelligibility, but doesn't have much of an edge. So this is ok, but if you like this kind of thing, then Angelcorpse or Diocletian do it better. |
