Took me long to check these guys out. I have to be in the mood for this kind of happy, pompous power metal and I was turned off from the genre for a long time. I like this quite a bit. It's very energetic, majestic, epic-style power metal with medieval overtones that make you imagine castles and medieval fantasy worlds while listening to the music. It's hard to resist singing along while listening to almost every song (I do resist because the coronavirus is bad enough without adding me singing to further torture humanity). The overall vibe is upbeat enough to brighten a bad rainy day and the epicness of it all pretty much kills. This is not unlike Freedom Call if they were less happy. I found that the end of the album is a bit of a letdown, ending a bit too quietly and every time leaving me with a, "that's it? You're leaving me on this note?" kind of expression. It's over the top and it's fun, and these days we can all use a bit of that in the middle of our metal playlist.
