This band out of Mexico plays some very raw death metal with growled vocals that are kind of just "shot" out there, like they're just flowing along with the music (I really can't describe this properly in words). Demoniac Paroxysm is very lo-fi and kind of primitive. Forget about technical, intricate, in-your-face or any of those things. Morbid Messiah play it raw and dirty, so much so that the music will be a turn-off for anyone who doesn't have the ear for this kind of raw-to-the-bone stuff. It's raw, visceral, not pretty at all and the result is just morbid and demoniac. Yes, I just wrote that. ;) This kind of primitive playing and songwriting is usually the playground of some black metal bands, but Morbid Messiah went and did it with death metal. |
