Portugal's Midnight Priest have dialed in the '80s on their third full-length, 2019's Aggressive Hauntings (getting a vinyl re-release from Dying Victims Productions in 2020), from the killer, Maiden-inspired artwork to the crunchy, somewhat unique music. They combine a bombastic traditional metal style with some thrashy riffing and unhinged vocals à la early Metal Church and let their energy and emotion carry their performances to the next level, much like Raven. There might not be a standout track on the album but there is no filler either, just pure, unadulterated metal. Additional Information - Vinyl re-release on Dying Victims Productions |
