This is a new band probably most notable for featuring ex-Bolt Thrower skinsman Andy Whale on drums, but really, all the members are old hands who have been in multiple acts over the years. As you might expect, there is more than a little Bolt Thrower influence here, with a more midpaced, riffy approach to the songwriting than anything blasty. There's nothing here fans of the style have not heard a bazillion times already, but here it's just done well. The riffs, the performances, the production—none of it is original, but all of it is just solid. This sounds like a lot of other Death Metal albums, but that doesn't stop it from being good. |
