Dwarrowdelf are one of those one-man projects that are highly prolific, having cranked out four full-length albums in two years. Highly influenced by Summoning, right down to the Middle-Earth themes, this is keyboard-heavy, atmospheric music with a lot of melody. The vocals are an unremarkable rasp, and the compositions range from decent to good. I loved their second album, Of Dying Lights, but their last, From Beneath the Fells, was too soft and atmospheric for me. This one gets back to the nice middle ground this act has staked out. You won't get your ass kicked by this, but if you want moody, evocative music that's trying really hard to sound like Summoning, then this is the stuff. |
