Finnish grind freaks Cannibal Accident have been rolling out their sickening shitshow since 2007 with several EPs, three full-lengths, a split, and a compilation. Shotgun Selfie is their latest EP, containing four new songs and four live tracks, and it's exactly what you'd expect from looking at it, but still pretty good for all that. Good ol' fashioned Death/Grind is the name of the game here, complete with every idea Rotten Sound and Pig Destroyer had years ago, right down to the juvenile, over-the-top lyrical themes that'll turn away a lot of people (with titles like "Shemale. Sodomy. Control (Per-version)" and "Human Panflute", who could blame them?). That said, this is at least a good example of the genre, and the original tracks are good blasts of violent, mindless fun. I can't say the live cuts add much value outside of padding out the runtime, and if you don't like this mix of genres nothing here will change your mind, but fans of the aforementioned bands will find this to be a serviceable short burst of extreme aggression. |
