One of four Proclamation reissues this year, Messiah of Darkness and Purity is more of the raw, chaotic and messy black/death that we've come to expect from them, though I'd say this one is a little more "orderly"—assuming you can actually bring order to chaos. ;) Even though it's a little more tame than some of Proclamation's other material, it's still music that's largely inaccessible to even the most seasoned metalhead as it is a huge mess of dark, violent noise (aka blackened death with no head or tail) that requires a lot of work on the listener's part to make any sense out of it. Couple that with a muddy production and Messiah of Darkness and Impurity sounds like an evil journey through the depths of hell. Check out at your own risks. :) |
