Debuting with this self-titled EP, Idle Ruin sure know how to make one hell of an entrance. Their style is basically death/thrash though there's the occasional blackened vibe here and there and their thrash sound seems to borrow a lot from the big German names, so what's not to love? As a bonus, I even got an urge to listen to Tankard upon hearing some vocal passages. Good thing I've got beer in the fridge. These 17 minutes are filled with quality metal with a clear but vicious sound that really puts the power of the guitars and drums out there and just makes you want to headbang like a maniac the whole time. It's an overcrowded genre, but if Idle Ruin play their cards right, they might just get noticed. |
