Indonesia has been quite the breeding ground for brutal death metal bands lately, and Decayed Flesh is just one of many that have come across my desk. Their style is more digestible to me: while many of those bands tend to sound "muddy" and sometimes just a barrage of noise, on Eternal Misery Decayed Flesh play it razor-sharp with the guitar sound just slaying away at every ear in sight with great precision. The band goes a little easier on heaviness than the genre often calls for and rather crank the technicality up a notch and there's more than enough speed to really mess you up if you try to headbang to this. The drums sometimes sound a little too "clickety" for my taste, but there are nonetheless some damn good heavy pounding moments to be found that more than make up for it. Chances are you've heard something like this album before, but if you're looking for brutal death with some order in the chaos, Eternal Misery is worth checking out. A young band worth keeping an eye out for.
