I think I hadn't heard this band in some 10 years. Time flies. This is a fun thrash album that's kind of a departure from what I've heard in the genre lately, with more extreme and darker, brutal thrash being kind of the king of the road and this brand of thrash here having been on the sidelines. I couldn't help but think of Overkill while listening to Sea Savage as there are some songs that sound like a tribute to the New Jersey thrash juggernaut. Like, really sound like Overkill, and not just because the vocalist sounds like Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth. And then some of the shouts on "Electric Pentacle" sound like David Wayne (Metal Church), another trek into the old school. The album largely sounds like "party thrash" reminiscent of some crossover bands of the '80s and the newer ones in the genre like Municipal Waste, so there's a lot of speed here and it's all delivered with kind of a loose chaotic style that makes it kind of goofy and fun. The overall impression while listening to Sea Savage is that they're just having a good time and want the listener to join in on the fun. It works.
