Review

I thought this band's name sounded familiar and that is because I reviewed their debut, Have Gun, Will Travel, back in 2010. Ten years later, I find myself reviewing Truth in Between, the band's fifth album. This is still a thrash band with singing that is "wild," for lack of a better word, playing music of the old-school variety. The vocals and sharpness of the riffs on cuts like "Back for No Good," "Populate. Delete. Repeat." and "Renegade" bring to mind Exodus' Bonded by Blood (if not as savage) but there is also a more prominent rocking, traditional metal vibe to songs like "I'm Not Gonna Stop." I admit that upon first listen, I did not like Truth in Between, but its eccentricities have grown on me after repeated listens. I don't think it is likely to replace any cherished favorites in thrash fans' playlists, but it is enjoyable while it is on.
